The Course

The Club holds the distinction of being the oldest 18 hole golf course located in its original site in the Los Angeles area.

Over the years our course has been shaped by some of the top golf course architects in Southern California including Norman Macbeth, William "Willie" Watson,William Park "Billy" Bell, Robert Trent Jones, Sr. and Robert Trent Jones, Jr.

San Gabriel's compact, level terrain makes for an ideal walking course. The grounds are graced by roughly 1,000 trees including several 200 year old oaks that adorned the property when it was still part of the Mission San Gabriel. The course's natural beauty is enhanced by a variety of flowering trees including albizia, magnolia, acacia, chorisia and jacaranda. All is framed by spectacular views of the San Gabriel Mountains.

Already one of the great historic golf courses in Southern California, the refresh and renewal we are currently undertaking will make San Gabriel's course all the more singular.  We are enhancing the superb greens, re-shaping key bunkers and installing a new state of the art sprinkler system that will trim water usage.  This is the Club's commitment to assuring its members great golf experiences for decades to come.

As a private club with limited membership, San Gabriel Country Club is never overcrowded. Our corps of experienced caddies and excellent teaching pros are readily at hand to help you elevate your game. For golfers at every level, the San Gabriel course is at once a test and a distinct pleasure - one that our membership delight in sharing with their guests, who are always warmly welcomed to our Club.
